So, what is YawpBox?
YawpBox is a user-generated content website. Videos, photos, journals, and more are all features that are free for those who just sign up. So, why would you sign up for YawpBox?
If you pay some of your well earned attention to video sites nowadays, you’ll notice that user-generated videos are created by the millions every month, and viewed by tenfold that amount. Someone may post a video that they don’t think is anything special, just something out of their daily lives. Something about it becomes popular and… BOOM, millions of people have watched their video.
Well, YawpBox is aiming to take things a step further. If your video gets popular enough, if it “makes the cut”, your video could be featured on a magazine-style TV show, filmed before a live audience and then watched by millions of people around the country. Something about seeing an ordinary family video of something amazing is better than watching a professionally done one.. I think it’s because it just makes the whole experience seem more real, therefore making it stick out in your mind more.
For example, I’d never forget the home video of someone barely getting missed by a falling tree. If I saw that same scene on a Hollywood movie, it would be fake and I’d forget it a lot more quickly.
With YawpBox, your video doesn’t have to be funny to get featured; it can just be really cool. Who knows, it might not even be that cool, but if it gets popular enough then… hey, more power to ya!
YawpBox also features the Lex and Terry challenge. I’m not too familiar with the show, even though it is within a few hundred miles of me. Anyway, listeners are given a homework challenge of creating videos over their radio and TV show. If you’d like to see the ones made as people’s “homework”, you can visit yawpbox.com and go to the Lex & Terry section of the website.
