Why Are Color Cartridges and Black Ink Cartridges Seperate?

If you’ve used a printer that is designed like most printers are, you’ll find that the black ink cartridges and the color cartridges are sold separately. I’ve heard some people complaining about this, but it is actually done in your best interest (to save you money, somewhat). For me, at least, I use black ink much faster than color ink. If I had to replace all my cartridges at once, or buy a new set of cartridges for all colors just to get a black ink one, I’d be wasting lots of color ink and lots of money.
