Wheres My Star?

Background Info:

WheresMyStar is a 100% totally free online dating site. It includes many of the standard features that you would find on a paid dating site, and more. There is the ability to view who is online, to browse profiles, and to send messages. Some of the top notch features are available for members only; but that doesn’t matter as it is completely free. Well, here I go, diving into my second free review. Enjoy!

Visual Design

The design is simple but sophisticated in my opinion. Its enough to look good, but not too much to distract from the content of the site. The nifty little charts/graphs help explain the site in a fun way. The color scheme is cool, and blends well with the theme of the site. The logo is nicely designed to go along with the name of the site, as well. Its not extraordinary, but its really nice looking altogether. I give it an 8/10 (Very Good)

Content

The preset content on this site is very well written. It doesn’t make anything confusing or leave anything unexplained. The features on this site are obviously well coded and put together, aim to make a perfect experience for a dating site. There is even a fun little game to play called Sparks or Not. However, the site is new and is not yet at its true capacity because of the low member count. (I’d probably try it, except I’m already taken ;)) I give the content a score of 7/10. (Very Good)

Other Basics

This section is worth a total of 10 points, so as much as the other three sections. But, it is judged based on 4 different areas: Site Functionality (does it run well?), Advertising Value (is this a good site to advertise on?), Sense of Community (does it seem like the people here are able to get to know each other?), and Ease of Navigation (is it easy to get around the site?). Each of those receives roughly 2 points towards the total of 10.

Site Functionality: 2/2 Works great. No errors of any kind, loaded fast. Coding seems well-written.

Advertising Value: 1/2 The site has lots of great content, but because of how new it is, it has no assigned Alexa rank.  The PR is at a good level, though.

Sense of Community: 2/2 This is a dating site. There is hopefully a sense of community in all dating sites. This one is no exception; there are tons of ways to communicate.

Ease of Navigation: 1/2 It is very easy to navigate, but while logged out it is possible to get  to a point where you have to enter in the URL again to access the home page.

Overall Score

7.7 (Very Good)

To any of you reading this, please do not think that a 7/10 rank is a low score. The way that I review websites makes it hard to score anything above an 8. Anything above a 5 on here is something to be proud of. I recommend that you check out “Wheres My Star” if you are in the market for a date.
