For the same reason you don’t start looking at life insurance quotes when you’re 5, you shouldn’t start looking at your next major technology purchase unless your less than a year away from making that purchase. Technology is really cool, and most of my favorite toys to play around with (i.e. video games, computer, electronic keyboard) are all technological. However, the bad thing about technology is that it goes out of date so fast. Besides my trusty Nintendo Wii, all of my other “hobby” technology items are out of date. My computer? It’s XP. My electronic keyboard? Has tons less features than those that came out this year. However, if I always had the latest of everything, I’d be out of money. It’s good to be content with what you have, but when you do plan ahead for a technology purchase, don’t choose exactly what your getting too early… or it might be out of date by the time you get it!
