Stopping the Bots
Word Count: 148I would hate to have to set my blog to only accept comments that I have to approve. It would be harder on me, and it would take longer for comments to show up. But, I have already been commented by two bots, who’s replies make no sense at all. I noticed that both of them included […] in their post. So, in order to help stop spam, any comments that contain […] will be marked as spam. It is okay to have just plain “…”, but do not include the brackets or it will be marked as spam. If the problem continues with the bots, however, I may have to go to first-time moderation, which wouldn’t be quite as bad as every-time moderation.
If any of you have any other ways of stopping bots besides those I mentioned, it would be great if you mentioned them here.

I agree with Anna. Though right now Akismet is not able to catch the spam trackbacks that I’ve been getting recently. There are other spam plugins available, but I still have to look at them.
By the way, I just noticed that my name was spelled wrong in your blogroll. That happens a lot, even I ‘mistype’ it sometimes. Can it be changed please, if you don’t mind… thank you!

AKISMET RULES.
also rename yr wp-comments-post.php to something else (mod yr comments.php too) …works alot easier
the [brackets] are actually TRACKBACK pingbacks!
Only trouble is, you got to filter out manually too cos akismet catches friendly ones …..at times.
