If it’s the late afternoon and you are having trouble staying awake, there are two things that can be helpful, especially if you are unable to find the time to take a nap. One, you can drink water, or a caffeinated beverage. Sometimes, just being dehydrated can make you tired, but the water in addition to caffeine will definitely give you a boost of energy. Also, if your blood sugar is low, or if you just have an empty stomach that is distracting you from concentrating, a small snack such as a protein bar, a Solo Slim Jim, or even something like Snickers can give you a boost of energy to make it to your next meal time without falling asleep. It’s not best to snack all the time in order to stay awake, but you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do.
