Self Checkouts
Word Count: 135It is interesting to me to see the many different views about self checkout machines. There are many people who seem to think of them as almost evil, because they result in fewer jobs. On the other hand, there are those who love self checkout machines because they are quick, convenient, and can lower costs in the long run for consumers. The checkout devices in themselves are not all that expensive to produce - a computer, a barcode scanner, a digital scale, and a place to set items is all that is required. The software, on the other hand, may require more costs than people expect, which is simply employing people in a different sector. People must also be employed to install the checkouts, maintain them, and update them. There’s more than meets the eye!
