The first type of review is when a company has a free service such as a website, and they pay you to write about their website. The second main type of review, performance reviews, are usually when a company or person sends you something in a physical form. For example, one time a company sent me a DVD. I got to watch the DVD and then write about how I liked it and how it worked. In that case, I also happened to get some cash too, which is nice.
