Music Theory

I know that for most people who don’t play an instrument, and even many people who do, music theory sounds like something so dull and pointless that you’d have to wonder why anyone would be interested in it. However, for those of us who enjoy writing music especially, learning more about music theory poses a huge advantage for any future composition works we may undertake. One thing that I’ve yet to learn (of many things that I’ve yet to learn) that I want to look into next is cord resolution. The way it is now, I just have to keep guessing until I find the chord that is the one I hear in my mind to make the grand resolution and ending to a piece. I’m sure that there is a way to figure out the resolution cord through patterns.

Learning that is just another thing to add to my list of things to do on “Someday”.
