The accuracy of identity verification is increasing in leaps and bounds. In the past, scientists had to rely on fingerprint scanning, which could prove inaccurate or hard to read if a decent amount of time had passed between the event and the time of testing. Today, DNA testing is becoming more popular in detective and other uses where identity verification is necessary. Although this is still not always going to be a sure fire solve (as there are still slight discrepancies as well as the fact that twins are slightly scattered throughout society) it is much better than tests that were relied on in the past.
