Goodbye Metal Handcuffs, Hello plastic handcuffs?

For years, metal handcuffs have been basically the norm for whenever someone is arrested. But, in recent months, that tradition is starting to fade. Many armed forces are switching to plastic handcuffs. Yes, the kind that you can buy in the store for a cheap price.

But no, not the kind that you could break easily. In fact, I know no one that could break this kind with their bare hands. This new plastic handcuff is a zip-tie.
Look here:

At the recent arrest of a major suspect arrest. (And I’m talking major!)
If you look at the guy’s hands, he isn’t wearing handcuffs. He’s wearing a zip tie.

If I hadn’t tried one of these on once I would think this was a bad idea. But, trust me, the more you struggle in those things, the more they dig into your skin. And no, you aren’t getting out of those without some heavy duty scissors.
