For businesses, times are tough too. Especially many small and medium businesses (those with less than 1000-2000 employees, I would say). Even some larger businesses are being hit hard, especially those in the service industry that rely on customer spending. Economically, some businesses are finding that they can trim on costs in unique ways. Some restaurants have taken to buying used restaurant equipment, which often works just as well and is much more affordable. Other businesses have bought out locations that might be non-traditional for their revenue model, but they make them work.

The one good thing about tough times is that it often sparks some awe-inspiring innovation.
