Sponsored Review of CatalystOffice Software
Today, I’ve had the opportunity to try a free trial of CatalystOffice, which is basically an in-browser office management system. To word it more simply, it’s small business software that runs similar to Microsoft Word, Outlook, etc. Not only that, but it’s actually compatible with files that were saved in those respective programs. This allows you to be able to pick up right where you left of at the office, except on any computer in the world that has internet access.
As soon as I logged in to the system, I was impressed. It allows you to right off the bat start adding users to your business. You pick their email address, their login password for the system, and put in their name. You can assign members of your business into groups, which would make it very easy to contact certain departments of the business. As mentioned above there is the documents area, where people can work on the same documents from different physical locations. If your business is one that uses a lot of contacts, then the contact system will make things SO much easier than if you were using physical papers with contacts on them. You can easily search and organize your contacts and store contact and job information about them. The tasks feature is wonderful, probably my favorite thing about this whole service is how the tasks feature intertwines with the other features. You can create tasks on a taskboard and assign them to specific employees, give details and attachments, as well as due dates. The only thing I noticed was that unless you change from the default setting, it will only show the tasks that are due on that day! It’s not a major problem, but it took me a minute to realize why the task I had added wasn’t showing up yet.
Overall, this seems like a truly great product for small business owners. It’s only $25 per month, and you can try it out for free for one month to see if it fits your business needs. If you’d like to read more, check out the Catalyst launch blog, which right now is understandingly small (as the product hasn’t been live for even a whole week yet!) but already has a couple well written posts on it. From reading what is already there, I can expect that we’ll be seeing plenty of quality, informative posts throughout the future.
Its totally risk free to give it a shot, so even if you don’t think you could use it right now, you might as well give it a try. For any small business owner out there, this is something that could make things a LOT easier for you.
