Calculating Cost of Living

I find it interesting the ways that companies calculate the cost of living for various parts of the country. Usually, it involves the price of food and gas, as well as the price of a new home. While this can be helpful, many people will be able to find a “used” home or an apartment for much cheaper - and some places the used home market is much more buyer friendly than the new home market, and vice-versa. You also have to consider the cost of life insurance and taxes, as well as the cost of vehicles, property fees, legal fees, and entertainment.
