This is interesting: according to an article on CNN, they are now developing prosthetic limbs for animals as well as for humans. I think this is a good idea for several reasons. Not only will it help people’s pets be able to experience life at a much more normal pace despite serious injuries, but it can also prepare the way for more advanced technologies that can be used in humans in the future. Think about it this way: with animals, they can’t tell them the rules of what to or not to do with the prosthetic limbs, so they must be fairly intuitive. This intuitiveness will then be able to be carried over to human prosthetic technology, helping to progress the field as a whole.
