I can’t believe how fast time flies! I’ve been writing this blog for over six years, and yet it seems like I just started a couple years ago. Other parts of my life are flying by, too. It takes quite an effort sometimes to slow down and smell the roses, so to speak. But it’s worth it. My life has been good, so far, and I don’t want to let it go by too fast or take any of it for granted.

Exercising on a regular basis is really good to do. It’s also very important that you stay hydrated while you exercise. Fill it with water, low calorie gatorade, or your favorite other sports drink and sip while you exercise. Just be sure to keep in mind your overall calorie results from the workout. A 400 calorie workout can be reduced by over 25% for each bottle of sports drink you consume. That’s why options such as the low-cal gatorade are good, because each bottle would only reduce your net-calorie burn by 10%. Not too bad for the replenishment that you’ll get there!
Tomorrow, I am taking a long day trip to southern Texas in order to attend the burial of my fiance’s grandmother. It is definitely worth it, but it will also be the longest day trip I have ever taken, in terms of distance – with five hours there and then another five hours coming back. We will mainly be stopping for lunch on the way down, and then maybe dinner and something fun on the way back up. If we just tried to drive the whole way without making any relaxing stops, it would be a lot harder to stay focused on the driving!
There are some things that aren’t healthy to do on a regular basis, but could be nice as traditions for special occasions. For example, eating a large pizza, drinking four cans of coke, and two cinnamon sticks is not healthy. But on your birthday? Maybe it’s okay. Same with smoking Rocky Patel cigars, or having a glass of alcohol with your dinner. The key is moderation. Plus, if you save some things for special occasions, then the experience is much more enjoyable, anyway!
For all of my years in high school, and for half of college, I was in the marching band. I played in the pit (front ensemble percussion) so I didn’t have to use a lyre for music. In fact, even when we did carry cymbals in a parade, we didn’t carry any music – we just had to memorize the score and when to play. For others, like trumpet players, clarinet players, and etc – the lyre proved to be quite handy on a regular basis!
With the advent of lightweight (relatively lightweight, at least) flat screen televisions, the practice of mounting TVs directly onto walls has gotten significantly more popular. The cool thing about a good tv mount stand is that it can position the television directly at the most natural point for your eyes and neck. You can also use these mounts to route cables through them and behind the TV so that the overall presentation is much more clean for you and your guests to enjoy. Some people have even been able to make their TV appear to be “wireless”, even though the wires are just cleverly hidden!
I’m not highly overweight, but I am a bit heavier than I would like to be – 5 pounds above the top of the “ideal” weight range, and closer to 15 pounds above the center of that range. I’ve started calorie counting a few days ago, and so far it has been working. The true test will be after a few weeks, when I see if I am actually much closer to my weight loss goals or not. Between eating less and working out, maybe I’ll be in a bit better shape!

Other organizations and companies use school bus style buses as well. When I was younger, my church owned a school bus for a while to charter students and church members to events and back. There are also other non-profits that benefit by transporting people (or even food, if the seats are taken out) around town. They are pretty versatile vehicles!
